Anyway, I just wanted to have everyone pray for me and my family. Things arent going the way they should be and its very hard for me to be strong thru things right now. I am having a very difficult time and strength would be a good thing to have, not only for me but for my whole family. I appriciate all the prayers that we have been getting and I am very thankful for my parents, my brother and sister. Without them right now I dont know what I would do. I love you guys so much. I am also very thankful for my church family and everything they have done. I just wanted to let everyone know that. She is a Rottweiler. She is 4 months old and weighs 56 pounds. She is just a big beautiful baby. She thinks she is a lap dog. We named her after the Talledega race track.( we are race fans if you cant tell) Everyone gave me a hard time when they found out that I got a rotweiler. I heard every story under the sun of how horrible of a pet they are, especially with kids. Well now that im on my soapbox i have to disagree. I understand that dogs turn on people, it happens all the time, but on the other hand a dog is what the owner makes it. Not all bully breeds are bad. With my experience at work, i have been bit more times by little itty bitty "so called" family dogs than anything else. I have never to this day been bit by a rottweiler or a pit bull, or bull dog, I could go on and on. People dont realize that all those breeds have developed a bad name because of owner irresponsibility. Dogs arent like people, if they are scared or threatened they cant tell people to back off, there only defense is to growl or bite. If I was in that position and that was all I could do Id be the same way. If dogs are not socialized around other animals and strangers when they are young, how does anyone expect them to act any way other than vicious. Dega loves everyone, and she wouldnt hurt a flea. She is very good with the kids and very protective of them. They can pretty much do anything they want to the poor dog and she lays there and takes it. I wouldnt trade her for any other dog in the world regardless of her breed, and im sure anyone that knows her would feel the same way.

The place I call work

Alot of new and exciting things are happening at work, and I just thought i would share a few of them. Well for starters the girl I had for my assistant, left. Friday was her last day. Now I have a new person helping me. She moved up from the afternoon shift. I am really excited that she is going to be helping me now. Her name is Nicole and she goes to church at Brandywine Community church. We get along extremely well and she is very dedicated to her job, just as I am. I think we will help each other out alot..
Another big change that is going on is that we are getting ready to start remodeling. Dr. Barnes is trying to make it easier on all of us. Right now with surgeries, no matter what size the animal is we have to carry them up and down the stairs. Its alot of exercise but it doesn't do your back any good when its a 70 pound dog. Any way with this remodeling he is planning on putting the kennels that we use for surgeries upstairs so we wont have to go very far. he is also going to havemore exam rooms added and make a bigger lab area in the back so we can do things without tripping over each other. Im not real sure how we are going to do things while the remodeling is goingon, but im sure everything will work out just fine. I am looking forward to the new changes and I just wanted to share them

my "Angels"

God has blessed me so much with three beautiful kids. I thank him every night for allowing me another day with them, to watch them grow and just be kids. I never understood why mom and dad were the way that they were when I was growing up, but now that i'm a parent I completely understand. They were just watching out for my best interests, and they wanted the best for me. Now I feel the same way about my own children and I don't think the way that mom and dad did things is so crazy after all. (I'm sure you like to hear that mom!)I've learned that it doesn't matter how wrong you think your parents are or how unfair you think they're being, they are just trying to protect you and help you make the right decisions for situations later in life. I know i'll go thru the same thing with mine when they get older, but I know with Gods help they will make it thru the teenage years and I will to.

Things dont always happen like you want them to!

It always seems like the harder you try to get something the farther away it seems, or just as you start to get ahead, something comes along and pushes you back even further. That seems to be the way its been for us the past few weeks. we've just gotten to the point were we are caught up with things and we are doing really well, but the down side is that we have been praying for something that seems so far from our reach. Of course I know that things happen in Gods timing not ours, but sometimes it gets so frustrating. So if everyone could, please pray that things go the way that it should be according to the way God wants, and that we are shown guidance for the right route to take. I have learned from experience that not every dicision you make is always the right one, and you have to suffer the consequences for all your actions. For one person to judge another persons character by the things they do is wrong, no matter how right you may think you are about that person. Not everyone is perfect, that is why there is a thing called "FORGIVENESS". Whether the person that makes mistakes is 15 or 75, it shouldnt matter, a bad decision is a bad decision, and as adults we need to set examples to the youth. If we judge them for wrong things they do and we dont love them and show them the right way to go, then how are we going to be judged by the only person whose opinion really matters?

My first post

You are probably wondering why this is called funny farm, well if you know me and my love for animals you would understand. I have 6 dogs (1 neighbors and 1 rescue, neither of them staying), 2 cats, a rabbit, a cockatoo, and a fish. Lets just say i've been called Ellie May a few times. I love all my animals very much.
